As a Web Designer, you will be fully responsible for the layout, visual appearance, and usability of the company website, ensuring brand continuity is maintained.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Design websites that are visually effective and easy to access
- Liaise with clients at the design stage to understand objectives, target audience, and competitors
- Advise clients on site structure, categories, and information requirements
- Design draft websites for client approval or modification
- Develop and maintain the company intranet as a central information source for employees
- Write web pages using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Flash
- Design and distribute newsletters and web-related documents
- Conduct internal and external presentations to promote the website and intranet
- Test websites across different browsers and screen resolutions
- Upload and manage websites on the internet
Skills and Attributes Required
- Strong online portfolio showcasing user-centred design
- Ability to hand-code using HTML
- Strong knowledge of Dreamweaver, Photoshop, CorelDRAW, JavaScript, and Flash
- Knowledge of mobile-friendly design
- Up-to-date understanding of modern web design trends and techniques
- Flexible attitude with experience working in a small team
- Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail
- Experience with web database solutions is an advantage
- Art, Design, or Media-based Honours Degree is an added advantage
